The origin of the study of numerology is derived from the Kabbalah. Numerology is the study of numbers, similar to the study of astrology (which is the study of planets). The two studies are connected in that each number in numerology is ruled by a planet. Therefore, numerology is interpreted by the influences of the vibrations of the number itself in conjunction with the vibrations of the planet that rules it and the color it reflects. The three vibrations combinely guide the destiny of the person born with that number. The life/destiny number of a person is the sum of their date of birth reduced to a single digit. The life/destiny number is referred to as the LDN throughout the numerology section of this website.
It is said that numerology came before astrology and that, only God knows the secret number. Much of the Kabbalah is based on a more complex and detailed study of the Hebrew numbers. Mama Love uses a more simple form for the "layman’s" use using the numbers from 1 to 9. This modern, simplified form allows everyone with a basic knowledge of simple math to easily calculate LDN's and participate.
